Meagen

I think Nov. 1st, but some calculators say Halloween, plus I was way overdue with Molly, so I'm sure sometime the first part of Nov.

Ana - EDD some time between 11/13 and 11/16 depending on which method for calculating I use. Woo Hoo I may get out of having to cook Thanksgiving dinner. LOL

According to the traditional charts, I am due 11/15, based on O date. I had pretty regular cycles, O'd on day 14. But using the other method that takes into account whether it is a first child, etc, I am due 11/19. Hopefully my MW will go with the later date officially, so no one starts freaking out at 40w. Plus, I want to attend a friends wedding on Oct 19 (in CA, I'm in GA) so the later date puts me at 36w and able to fly for the wedding, assuming all is going well at that time.

Ha, long answer for a simple question!

I am Sarah and due a few days before thanksgiving,so I'm just telling everyone THANKSGIVING BABY!

What's funny is my FIL doesn't know I'm pg yet and was reminding me it's my year to host Thanksgiving dinner,yeah.......OOOOOKKKKKK, we'll see!

I'm due 11/12, but I'm betting that the baby will come on the 18th. There's a trend in my social circle for babies coming at the least convienent time, and the 18th would be it.

Bensmom: What is this 'Other calculation" you're talking about? Now I'm all curious.

Due 11/8

Here is what I used:

1. Start with the first day of your last menstrual period.

2. Subtract 3 months.

3. Add:

15 days if this is your first birth
10 days if this is not your first birth

Here are some more:

Frye, "Holistic Midwifery" pp. 364-7 supports 4 or 5.

Wood's method:
nullips: LMP + 1 year - 2 months - 14 days, +or- days cycle varies from 28 days
multips: LMP + 1 year - 2 months - 18 days etc . . .
Nichols, Carol Wood, "Postdate Pregnancy, Part II: Clinical Implications," J. of Nurse-Midwifery, Vol. 30, No. 5, Sept/Oct., 1985, pp. 259-268.

Mittendorf's Study
31 nullips, 83 multips found first pregnancies lasted on average 288 days and multips 283.
Nullips: LMP -3 months + 15 days (adjust for variation in cycle length)
Multips: LMP -3 months +10 days etc . . .
Mittendorf, R. et al., "The length of uncomplicated human gestation," OB/GYN, Vol. 75, No., 6 June, 1990, pp. 907-932.

From: http://www.gentlebirth.org/archives/dueDates.html (great site! BTW)

So using the standard Dr's wheel, I am due 11/15.
Using Mittendorf's Study, I am due 11/19.
Using Woods method, I am due 11/21.

Interesting. Kinda makes you wonder why so many women are being induced for postdates. Maybe if the Drs used a different method, then maybe these mamas wouldn't be pressured so much, so often! Not to mention, the Dr's wheel doesnt take cycle length into consideration either.
