ISO a sewing/designing WAHM (x-post)

Hi mamas! I am in need of a sewing mama who has access to awesome material and would be willing to design and custom make my darling dd something.

My 8-month-old grabbed a cup of hot tea off a table a week ago and suffered very bad burns, the majority on her left arm. She has been in the hospital for just over a week and we have a bit of recovery to do still but we are pretty sure she doesn't need any surgery.

Anyway, she cannot get any sun on her hurt arm at all this summer. I wouldn't be too worried but we live in Sicily and that would mean she would be shut inside all the time. She couldn't even go to the store with us. It gets WAY too hot for long sleeves in August. She would suffer heatstroke or something. So what I need is for someone to make and design her an couple of arm covers with a high SPF (is that the right word?) so her arm will be safe and we don't have to freak too much about it.

I just want something to cover her arm. The burns are all the way around, from the top of the arm to her wrist. I would need a few and I guess they would have to be pretty adjustable.

Can anyone help me? Thank you!

Solarveil is totally breathable -- lighter weight even than cotton gauze. It is a synthetic fabric with 70% UV protection in a single layer, 90% protection in a double layer. They sell jackets at the above store, or many wahms or any seamstress could make one for you (I'd recommend kwik sew patterns) -- fabric for sale at solarveil.com .

I've talked with mamas who've used it on carribean vacations and say it's almost like wearing nothing. A solarveil jacket will be as cool as or cooler than arm covers and probably a sight more comfortable, too, IMO.

I hope your little one feels much, much better, and very soon too! It's so hard to see our little ones hurting.

I had an idea while reading these posts, if you do find someone to make something, maybe having like a sleeveless top design, and then use the solarveil for sleeves? If it is breathable, it should be ok for hot summers? I bet it would look pretty cute too. I'm not all that awesome at sewing or I would offer to do it. Sorry about that.
I hope you do find someone to help out and that your dd continues to heal.
