NM breastfeeders beat Nat. Avg.

I found this when I was doing a search for another article. I live in NM so I really thought this was cool.

The figures come from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

The statistics show nearly 73 percent of New Mexico mothers started out breast-feeding their babies last year. Nationally, the figure was about 71 percent.

New Mexico’s rate dropped to 39 percent by the time the baby was six months old. Nationally, 36 percent of the mothers were no longer breast-feeding by the time the baby was six months old.

By the babies’ first birthdays, only 19-point-three percent of mothers were still breast-feeding. The figure nationally by age one was 17-point-two percent.

That is pretty cool-I wonder how accurate these percentages are....how they get these numbers?
I'm going to look up Dallas and see what it is!

Cool for us , and "they" say NM is one of the worst states for children.


I actually do see people bfing around here.
