Hi all!
First of all, I'm so excited to see all the births! Congratulations to all you mamas!
Our beautiful son Jonah was born on Monday March 14th at around 9:00 PM, weighing at 7 lbs, 14 announces. He is perfect and gorgeous!
We gave birth at a hospital and had a totally natural delivery, assisted by our doula, some incredibly supportive nurses and a wonderful doctor (who was not our regular doc, but was even better, I have to say, in terms of supporting our vision for this birth). I was in active labor for about 11-13 hours. That went fairly well, though I thought the pain was pretty intense. The pushing part was harder, as the baby's head was big and I am quite small, and by then I was exhausted. But out he came with only a second degree tear to my perineum and then I was just ecstatic with joy.
My partner and I have been holed up at home adapting to our new son since Wednesday. We are so in love with him!!
Must eat something before next feeding session.
Warm wishes to all of you still waiting,
OOPs-- I should change my sig-- I'm no longer pg!
