What's your favourite sewing machine & serger?

Hi!
Thought this question would be a good one...to see how many sewers like certain brands.
I like the Husqvarna brand the best, but truthfully never tried any others except for Kenmore (Janome).
Also, I'm thinking of investing in a embroidery machine, any suggestions?

I will bump this - an interesting topic - although the machine I primarily use is a 1942 Singer.

Hee, yeah, I try to stay out of these conversations cause I think everyone is sick of hearing me recommend vintage Singers, lol!

Though for embroidery, I would go with the Viking Husquvarna Designer I or the Babylock Professional. I haven't really looked into the lower priced embroidery machines much, cause I can't get my heads out of the clouds enough yet

I didn't realize (although it makes sense) that other seamstresses here used the old Singers.

Anyway.... I was curious about the embroidery machines myself and I know someone who bought TWO different embroidery machines from eBay that needed minor repairs, she did it herself with the manual, and they work great> She also said to stay away from the Disney machines.
