Lansinoh baby wipes...hmmm... - Page 2

I am sure they are fabulous wipes. BUT they are not something breastfeeding moms need to have, and they are being marketed as such. I think that was the issue.

Annettemarie, I agree, sorry, I read the whole thread, but got a little o/t in my mind.

Agree, they had nothing to do with BFing for me, just good wipes.

Well, ok. But have you *ever*tried the kick -ass Mustela wipes?? The only wipe that cleaned my breastfed childrens bottoms well were, well, Mustela. All other wipes were terrible--took like a thousand per BM-- and so I never bought them. Once is enough, yk?

If one never tried a good disposable wipe, how would one know if they were superior? Am I being mean to have a wipe preferance? If these Lanisnoh wipes are as good, they will help cut through that breastfed baby poop. Maybe you never tried Mustela. Americans have no idea how to make decent throwaway wipes. Cloth is better. But Mustela rocks.

Sorry. LOl Just the French wipes are *that much better*. And color me weird, but breastfed babies have poops that are thicker, greasier and need a little "oomph". I mean , breastmilk is all excellent human fat, with some water and sugar. (Well, it's mosly water, but with big important greasy human fat). Nothing wasteful there. It's gonna take some *soap* to clean a butt). . Formula is *not* breastmilk. That's a fact, my friends.

Who cares if someone reads a wipe box worrying that their bf baby might need a little more cleaning? I mean, who decides whether they will breastfed from ad copy? Any person living in this century knows that formula and a nanny will keep their kid alive perfectly fine. Breastfeeding *is* harder. You gotta be there, you might need lanisnoh cream, you might actually lose sleep.

this has gone so OT. but to answer your question, i'd never spend that much money one wipes unless it was during a terrible rash. In the instance I used them they worked better for protecting and cleaning than just water and a cloth wipe. I did find some goats milk wipes at the HFS but for 10 bucks a pop there was no way. That and I was worried they would encourage thrush with the milk...

I agree with the general idea here. It is marketing though. Thats sales. They market to people who will believe they NEED them. I didn't NEED them. I got a sample... It is nice to me that there are things for jsut us.. FF moms get more stuff to choose froms and more little cute things in general. Ever notice as a BF mom the whole bottle/paci/breastpads aisle at target seems *almost useless? I wander down it thinking, boy I really used to THINK I needed alot of crap for a baby.

ok. so i thought the packaging info was ...... informative.

But I think that breastfed babies DO have different needs. And lanolin is great. For all babies, but ESPECIALLY a bf baby that may poop at every diaper change (8-10 times a day)

I don't think their marketing them specifically for bf babies is a bad thing at all.......

I almost spilled my coffee as I was pouring it out this morn. I was lauighing so hard at myself for getting into a discussion about disposable diaper wipes.

:LOL I gotta get me a job. Or maybe do some 'real curricula' with my hs'd kids. Damn-- i wish it would stop snowing so i could garden.
