My 1st girl, my 1st baby born before my EDD, my 1st homebirth... So many things are unique about this experience for me!
Our baby girl was born at home in water on Sunday March 20 at 6:24 pm. She weighed 8 lb. 6 oz. and my labor was only 2 hours long from the first contraction to when her body slipped out into my hands. Our doctor didn't make it in time, so DH and I and my mother and my step-father were the only ones in attendance at her birth. My step-father is a paramedic, so he helped me deliver her a little bit - he checked for a cord around her neck, but basically I did everything myself. It was an amazing, rewarding and extremely intense experience.
More details to come later. I have to go back to staring at my baby now.
I forgot to add that we can not decide on her name.
It's either Stella Caroline or Daphne Charlotte. Both just feel right somehow...
