Contagiousness of chicken pox/shingles

Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if it is even possible for the chicken pox virus to be passed to a 29 week fetus? One of my family members has shingles and I'm wondering if I should avoid her and anyone who has been in contact with her? I had chicken pox quite badly around 13 years ago. Any ideas?

Shingles can be passed on and cause chickenpox in the infected. We had a mom here who had shingles and her child got chickenpox (which she wanted him to have).

Even if you get chickenpox during pregnancy it is usually not dangerous to the fetus. I would think even less so after the first trimester.
Although it is different via vaccine.

And you've had the chickenpox, so you have natural protection to boot.

Here is a link to chickenpox during pregnancy.

What can I do if I am pregnant and been in contact with chickenpox or shingles?

If you have had chickenpox in the past, you will be immune. You are not at risk, and you do not need to do anything. (About 9 in 10 pregnant women have already had chickenpox as a child and are immune.)

The best for your pregnancy.
