Thread Starter
I had a great birth Friday night,
but did have some tears, and an inflamed hemorroid.
I ahve already run out of the salve the midwife gave us.
Does anyone have some suggestions of somethign I can use that I can get at the health food store?

thanks

What really helped me was sitting in really hot water whenever I could. And the witch hazel helps, too. You can buy Tucks pads or just make your own.

ointment

I wonder whether that wonderful stuff for healing sore nipples would work too?? I think its natural lanolin from sheep or something!!

Good luck and I hope you heal really soon,

Congrats on your new baby 2,

first of all, congrats on the birth!

as for tears, can't say enough about sitz baths! with a little warm water, even hot, it feels great.

not to scare you but it took about 2-3 months for my 3rd degree tear to heal completely and quit itching or being painful during intercourse.

also, when you are ready for sex, be sure to use astroglide! and plenty of it.
hope that wasn't too graphic.

I had a tear and spent a lot of time in the tub. Once we commenced intercourse I noticed that things still hurt and I went to the MW and she told me I had granulations which are very painful. they have to be frozen off. If you notice pain and itching that seems not quite right, get checked out. No sex with granulations. For my tear I used comfrey root salve and also have done some massage to help with scar tissue.
