Feb 05 Mama's gettin' fit!! - Page 2

as soon as i'm done nursing, i'm going to walk outside--it's a beautiful day.

tug, i feel for ya, i have been a sweet fanatic lately and am feeling a bit gross and guilty about it! i need to lay off!

shannon, maybe while you're body is healing and you aren't able to exercise, you can focus on getting into healthy eating habits? even if you only do one thing each week, it'll help prepare you for when you can finally exercise. i agree with your dh that maybe weight watchers will give you some support in the meantime--but don't beat yourself up!! you have had so much going on, take it one day each and be proud that your body gave you beautiful molly. also, go to LLL anyway. i bet noone there would mind meeting you. even if you don't end up going regularly, it might be a good way to meet some like-minded moms. even though you're not physically breastfeeding, you have a lot of other things in common with these people.

mil just came over...so much for the walk...

good luck everyone!! susan

Hi everyone! Long time, no see....

I wanted to jump in here, though.

My goals: to walk at least 4x per week (long walks) or replace with a cardio workout and also do some strength training work (situps/pushups) about 3x per week.

So far, so good....I've gotten 2 long walks in so far this week. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate for us.

I have my postpartum visit with the midwife on Friday. So I guess I will find out how much I weigh now. Wish me luck on that one!

I got to go on a walk today and we went to 2 different parks and stopped for Chloe to play. I'm really trying to do something fun with Chloe every morning preferably. Walking allows me to get exercise and for her to have fun too. I feel like I'm trying to make up for lost time. I just didn't feel like doing anything for the last half of my PG and Chloe was justsat in front of TV everyday. gotta go for now. I'll check in later. Still gotta get those measurements done.

OK I'll be out loud and proud about my weight.

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 190
Goal weight: 150's-ish / size 10(ish)

Oooh also adding that my current exercise is 1 evening walk pushing a twin stroller carrying 2 heavy three year-olds and slinging my 15 lb. baby. I am also trying to do a twice-weekly morning walk with another MDCer who lives close by.

Diet is, um, not so good. Not junk food but man I need carbs these days. My big boy drinks a lot of milk and I find my cravings are almost worse than when pg! Must. Give. Up. Pasta. Must. Give. Up. Trail Mix.

It's going to be a little too cool here for a walk today. Blech!

Shannon, I think Susan is spot on about starting Weight Watchers now. Hey, you could be totally in the swing of healthy eating once you are able to start exercising. I guess the question is would you feel better doing what you can now, or would you rather wait until you can do it all? I'm so sorry to hear about your health woes - it sounds very frustrating, in addition to being painful.

Yesterday I was able to do my one-mile exercise tape. It was nice to actually have the solid 25 minutes to do the video - it gives me hope that regular exercise could be in the cards for me.

Well it freakin snowed here today : One day I'll get to use my new stroller to walk to the park that is only 1 block down the street.

For now I'm just walking up and down my 4 levels of stairs over and over and over. That has to be doing something right?

hi everybody - it's been raining here. i walked about 20 min yesterday but did get rained on. the eating healthy has been going well, so i'm pleased about that but WOW there are so many temptations. i've passed up godiva, chocolate cake, krispy kreme, dove chocolate eggs, hershey kisses, fudge brownies, almond roca, and a box of locally made fabulous chocolates. i am so proud of myself! hopefully, i will feel firmer and leaner next week...

Hi ladies! I haven't been feeling well this week so I skipped out on my workout the last 3 days! But you know what? I still lost 2 pounds. I am usually not one to watch the scale much. I just like to see results in my body. I could really care less what I weigh... but it is so motivating to see the weight coming off. I have never done it this easily before. I am excited to see what happens when I am exercising 5 days a week instead of 2!!

Tug ~ Way to go on the sweets!! Thats awsome! I have been indulging in Easter candy that is laying around. I will be glad when it is all gone! I have such a hard time with chocolate!

Threeforme ~ We still have a ton of snow and it just keeps coming. It does look like it may be a warmer day today though. I haven't done anything outside tho, it is just still too cold. And yes I would say 4 levels of stairs would do something!!

Peri ~ I am a carb hound too lately. I am mostly concentrating on my exercise for now tho. I am trying to eat healthy (except the chocolate I can't resist ) It's too hard for me to get tooo strict with everything all at once. I have to take it slow!!

I gotta go. Hope everyone is doing well and meeting there goals! Take care!

Went to my pp appointment on March 30th. Still hovering between 118lbs & 120lbs. But I am finally cleared to do any exercise I want. It has been raining on and off for days and there is now a lake in my front yard. It is sunny for the moment and I am really considering going for a walk. If I can get Brian to watch the baby...I would take Zander with me but the snugli hurts my back. My baby is 12lbs 12oz now so I do curls with him to help tone my arms. Sit-ups are starting slowly with sets of 25-50 with 30 second breaks until I reach 100.

I haven't worked out this week. Still a little sick and up to my ears in bookwork. I have to do it in the morning while the kids are sleeping or there is no hope. But that's also my workout time. Hopefully by Thurs. I will be back in my grove. I am continuing to lose tho which makes me happy Hope you all are doing well.

2 pounds off last week. wish i felt better about it. i was a little disappointed after all the chocolate deprivation. haven't done so great this week since we have company. have been trying to exercise though - walking and stairs - lots of exercise when you're kinda big like i am!

Wow, I haven't dropped by this board in a while...need to keep up with things.

I'd like to join the getting fit support group, because I need it.

Current weight - 135 and squeezing into a size 7
Goal - 120 and to fit my size 1 jeans again...sigh

Measurements - ?? as of now

Game Plan - I'm drinking tons of water and I'm only allowed one soda a week (decaffenated of course). I'm trying to watch what I eat and have smaller portions. Eventually, I'd like to get to where I'm eating six small meals a day instead of three larger ones. I'm doing Buns and Abs of Steel 2000 right now because all I really need to do is tone up and burn a little fat. I've also been walking about a mile a day on the beach since I've gotten here. I'm going to walk the big block when I get home to NC (little over a mile).

I have to come to terms with the fact that my hips and rib cage have spread and I'm never going to be as thin as I once was. I now have curves...the waif is no more.

I can barely zip up my size 7s...I really miss being a size 1.
I guess I need to say goodbye for a little while...since we are moving on the 16th my husband wants to pack up the computer...I'll still be trying to get fit...and hopefully I will be back on-line by June 18th.

Monica ~ It's kind of hard to deal with the fact that your body will never be the same as it once was. Even if you lose all the wieght it's still different. But I must say, I wish I were your size. I am squeezing into a size 12 right now : I have about 24 lbs to lose still. Yuck!! But I am doing it this time.

I went and worked out this am. It felt great. I went 2 hours earlier so I could leave the kids with dh and it helped a ton. I am excited to be getting into shape. The wieght is falling off easily enough, but I am soooo out of shape. We did a 30 minute tae bo cardio video and I thougth I might die. Owell, at least I know it was doing something. Gotta run. Take care!
