Crat- soaking gauze in witch hazel- question?

Crat recommended soaking gauze pads in witchhazel and frezing them for after birth- so I ran out to buy the stuff- but I have a question...

Thw witch hazel at my drugstore is all natural, Dickinson's- and it is 14% alcohol! Is that the right stuff? I wanted to be sure I wasn't supposed to go to the health food store and look for 100% witch hazel or something- and that the alcohol was supposed to be there!

I bought apricots and a cold pack too- thanks so much for the tips!

And where do you buy a peri bottle??

Hi! You're very welcome for the tips. I just picked up the witch hazel from our local drug store. I'm NAKing ds right now, or I'd go double check to see if mine had alcohol in it too. I imagine it's the same kind as yours. I still had my peri bottle from when the hospital sent me home with one with ds's birth almost 2 years ago, so I'm not sure where to recommend picking up a peri bottle. I had a hard time finding the chux pads, but eventually found them at our local drug store, kind of hidden alongside the depends (which were great for the few days following the birth).

My mw uses the herbal bath mixture she makes for after labor. She puts it on pads and freezes them while you are in labor. They REALLY feel good afterwards.

The witch hazel on gauze works GREAT! My dh calls them my panty pops!

I am using the leftover chux as changing pads.

my mw had a peri bottle.

and i am SO excited to say i am nak too!!!
