Lynn Johnston's "For Better or for Worse" actually has a joke about nursing!

It's also about what happens when you play a joke on little children....

lmao! too cute!!

I like the little nursing baby noises best. "miff, miff"

I think you can tell when an author has real life nursing experience and when they are just making it up. Lynn Johnston is the real thing, IMO.

Off to buy a Sunday paper, so I can put that on my fridge!

Thanks OP for sharing that! I loved that -- I think that may be the only toddler/tandem nursing I've come across in pop culture. Mad cool.

But.

How the hell did Michael get to be old enough to have a partner and not one, but two babies?!?!?!? Jeebus! I feel older than dirt! The last time I read that strip he must have been in high school (which seemed old then). Good for them, and way to go, Lynne Johnson!

I've been reading this strip for years and there have definitely been other strips with nursing but this one was pretty funny.

Dh doesn't understand why michael would say that there was chocolate in the first place?

Its my favorite comic strip, but I was sad that the older baby was weaned already. Guess you can't please everyone, huh? :LOL

That was cute! At least it was implied that it was CLW- she said "Meredith hasn't wanted to nurse in ages". I don't know how old she's supposed to be though.

Michael got married at the same time I did and they had their first at the same time we did and now we're having our second within months of each other. My mom is always sending me clips because she knows I'd approve of a lot of the stuff they do. It really is fairly NFL friendly.

Michael has been married for a long time (I read the comic every day. ) Meredith I think is supposed to be around two, so I don't think she's too young to be weaned. The new baby is a couple months old now, I think. Elizabeth is out of college and working as a teacher, and April is in high school. I remember when April was born... she was a home birth, wasn't she?

Okay, I have no life...

Recently they said something along the lines that Meredith was weaned when she got her teeth, and nipped the first time.

Any bets as to where the strip is leading up to, right now? Today's strip shows the rooting newborn baby, and April taking the baby back to the mother, Therese. Lynn has written Therese to be a more selfish, jealous woman.... I bet we see bottles in the next strip.

(NO, NO, NO!!! I'm not saying moms are selfish just because they use bottles!!! I'm just saying I don't think this baby is going to be breastfed like Michael and Dee's kids).

I was also wondering after reading today's strip. I guess formula fed babies also root? I know that sounds stupid, but I haven't been around a formula fed newborn since I had a baby and learned about all these things. I check the strip every day and am very curious if Therese is breastfeeding.
