One twin doesn't want other twin to nurse?!

I have twins -a boy and girl, Ava and Adam (Just turned 3 years old). This past week Adam not only has no interest in nuring, but when Ava tries to nurse he gets really upset. I was nursing Ava today and Adam ran over and yelled "no Ava! no milk! Mommy has no milk for you!" He was freaking out. Ava stopped nursing and they started talking to each other in their twin language. Ive tried to talk to Adam about this and he just says that they don't want my milk anymore. Im extremely confused.

***im going to be crossposting this in BF beyond infancy and moms with multiples***

Maybe they're ready to wean? (Well, with a little push for Ava.)

I'm not sure that you can force them not to. Are you concerned that DD is being pushed into not nursing before she wants to, because her brother is physically intervening? If so, why not talk to her about it, and remind DS that his choice not to nurse is HIS choice, but DD gets to decide what to do with her own body.

Well your post certainly didn't describe the situation I expected from the title! I was thinking it would be more along the lines of what goes on in our house all day. . . "Mom, close my nursing so _______ [insert name of one of my children] can't have any!"

That said, what you did describe sounds like pretty typical twin behavior to me. If I were you I would just explain to Adam that indeed you are still happy to be nursing Ava, and that he is more than welcome to join her if he wants.

Sort of off-topic, but I've found that the amount of water I drink in the day is so completely linked to the amount of milk I produce. I know this is obvious, but I'd sort of forgotten about it when we got past the first year. Some days my supply is really low, and my boys will come off and say, "you need some water, mom. . . I want milk in a cup!" If you are concerned about your supply dropping off, try doubling the amount of water you drink in a day.

Good luck!
