OMG so we got to my families house this easter evening and Kai was getting tired.. I was laying on the floor in the living room and he latched on ( shirt was on of course only one side up) anyways my niece who is 5 with cerebral palsy comes over and sits on my stomach and watches Kai nurse ( she has always been interested and will even try to nurse on my sis after seeing us ( she was BOTTLE FED). So then Kai is looking at her giggling her and she is teasing him and goes and tries to move my boobie outta his mouthy ( it was so endearing and cute especially how she was soooo interested. Well then she went to 'pretend' she was gonna nurse and my BIL FREAKED! HE SAID STOP THAT IS GROSS . MY DH SAID TO BIL WHY IS THAT GROSS THEN the subject was dropped and we were on our way out anyway.. Well IM on the phone with my mom this evening ... my sis beeps in and asks my mom if it was true what her daughter had done. I told my mom and i guess my BIL said that it would be the same as if he whipped out his penis and let DS play with it... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT !!!!!! HELLOOOOOOOO So just because there are soo many close minded people in our country .. DH says hmmm Bfing is excepted most over the world where is a toddler playing with a penis exceptable OMG how can that be the same.... I dont even want to talk to them.. ( and this was after seeing them for the first time since xmas cause of things that they thought we were crazy for ( no tv, no commercialization etc) !!!! IM laughing really hard however really pissed off.. So i say to my mom THATS IT I DONT WANT TO TALK TO THEM AND THAT it is unfair to tell my niece it is gross. my mom said everyone parents different and i say it has nothing to do with parenting it has to do what is NATURAL!!!!

So i guess BIL isnt a supporter for BFing? LOL



and to top it off guess he only sees boobies as sexual orientation.!|

and some dfamily members are nosey so maybe they will come across this post..


Anyone know where i can find a nice and not to pricey breastfeeding doll?

SO now it has me thinking:

When they adopt a child from China and ( IF I SEE THEM)
and they happen to come over and the baby has a bottle i should probably freak out if Kai goes to touch it and say its not APPROPRIATE TO BOTTLE FEED AT OUR HOUSE!!!

I would be bothered if you didn't tell my child that it was not appropriate to touch your breast.

She has always been interested in watching me BF ( 6yrs old with cerebral palsy) MY BIL thinks nursing is gross and cant even sit by me if i nurse Kai ( even when he was a new born.... Anyways i didnt think there was any need for me to tell her not to touch my breast as she loves to watch her cousin ( My son) nurse and she went to tease him ( as he was already giggling at her ) so she pushed part of my boobie away from him so he would come off of it.. then when my shirt was back down ( i try to be quick and get my shirt down as soon as he comes off cause he likes to be an acrobat) she PRetending to nurse AKA she jsut laid on my chest : )


Now that i think of it my sis even knew what was going on cause she teased and said my DS wouldnt handle it well if i had a nother baby to share BFING with .. so its more my BILs weirdness in general


and HIGHLY PISSES me off how he views BFING apparently as a sexual object

HUH? No when ever she sees me nursing DS later on in the day sometimes my sis will say that her daugher will try to nurse on her... As for the doll i would like to get her one so she understands BFING is ok NOT GROSS and she can even have it to think it is Auntie and her Cuz..

I am sorry your BIL is so ignorant and is in turn miseducating his daughter about breastfeeding.
I think you are doing a great job of showing your niece through practice that bf is natural. Can you invite the family over to your home for a play date or something. Seems like the kids get along well anyway. Hopefully your BIL will not show up , but I am sure you can convince your sister to come over can't you?

Your BIL needs to get a life. I tried EVERYTHING in order to BF Maya and ended up bottle feeding her. I am due anytime now and want so badly for Maya to see that you feed babies from your breasts and not a bottle which is what she does now (we have a little plastic one and I want to chuck it out as soon as she understands we feed from the breast). I wish I could say that this is the first time I have heard someone say that letting a child touch a breast is the same as letting a child touch a penis. Yes, our culture has actually produced people who think that the breast is a genital.

I hope you can have visits with that family w/o BIL- I hate to think of your niece growing up with a faint memory of that nice aunt and her baby- and that shameful day when she touched your breast for a split second.
