HELP! Major health trouble... please tell me it could pregnancy related? - Page 3

I had this happen once! I woke up in the middle of the night in SEVERE pain. I never could figure out how it happened, but between my chiro and the massage therapist (I think it was the massages!!!!) I was much better within a week. For me, the chiro only did so much and the massages were the key. I was pregnant during this too, so my MT did not do deep tissue but it was still so effective. Give it a shot A one hour massage was cheaper than a chiro visit, so a weekly massage actually saved me money :LOL

All right, so there's just one test that was iffy, but the rest were all negative. The Dr. says if I'm getting relieve, then it's not that iffy one anyway. So, YAY! All clear! I'm soooooo happy and relieved. Whew.

My chiro was able to get that last vertebrae back in yesterday. Which is WONDERFUL. As kind of expected my neck went into spasms again, which really isn't bad compared to what happened on Sunday, so I just tried to take it easy and relax. Got a massage in the pm. Gosh, I don't think my body has ever had so much attention! :LOL It's going to get a big head now.

I can now turn my head in both directions and have come so far away from the intense constant pain of Sunday/Monday that I'll dare to say I'm feeling just a couple days away from normal? I still have more chiro appts and probably another massage.

Thank you all for your suggestions! They happen to be exactly what we're doing! You must know your stuff! We've been doing hot/cold with rice sock that Jude now refers to as "Cware's Hot Dock" (He's stopped calling me mom in the past month and still can't say his L or S yet!). And, yes, Stacey, I've been going to the massage therapist, too. She's been doing cranial sacral work mainly. Very good suggestion.

Ooh, and yes, the sleeping while nursing in bed owie. Yes, I had that a lot with Jude. Cicely prefers her own bed... odd child! So, that wasn't was caused this. This pain in the neck was like, try to go into the garage so I can scream and cry without the kids hearing me kind of pain. It was intense and there was no let up. It hurt if I moved, it hurt if I didn't move. I felt very crippled.

Chrissy, LOL on the twins. Didn't I tell you... this time I'm not EVER thinking twins!!! (both Jude and Cicely were pronounced twins at differnt points during my labor, Cicely was much more showing signs.) But, this time... I swear, I'm not ever going to type, "They think it might be twins."

The more you describe your neck pain the more I start getting flashbacks! My neck was so out of whack I was "stuck" looking right for a couple days. Until you mentioned it I forgot about how helpful the hot/cold packs were. Glad to hear you are being so well taken care of I highly reccomend preventative massage from here on out

OH...no belly sleeping either

claire, big time hugs to you mama!

and a hearty congrats on the new bean

reading this thread has brought back memories of odd neck/arm/shoulder pain I've had in my 3 pgs (most notably the last one). Seeing a chiro and fairly regular yoga helped tons. As well as listening to those hypnobirthing/babies recordings nightly. My 3rd pg was definitley the most intense physically throughout. you may recall some of my complaints! But never did I have anything as severe as you. I just can't imagine! My heart goes out to you, really. You are so full of sweetness and giving and light, this just isn't fair! I'm so happy things seem to be improving so much.

oh, and

I'm so sorry I was out of town all week and not here for you!

I'm glad you are feeling better, that is wonderful news!

I am glad I read this thread. I have had horrible upper back and neck pain and spasms and numb arms for years now. I did everything from PT to surgery (breast reduction), to chiro, to meds meds meds and more meds up to the vicodin, none of it helped. I started accupuncture and it was the one thing that finally helped me. That said, no one could tell me what was wrong with me. The chiro saw some spots on the xray but the MRI came back fine, I wonder now if it is from sleeping funny on my side and the 3 years total of nursing in bed all night. Hrmph. I still sleep on my side and tummy, can't sleep on my back for the life of me. I hope I find a better way to nurse the next one at night before it starts getting worse again. I stopped seeing my accupuncturist too because I need the money to pay for my midwife. Interesting.
