Quick - could a few drips be my water breaking?

I've read that when your water breaks it can feel like either a gush or a trickle. I guess I'm wondering how much of a trickle you might feel - I've felt a little bit over the last half hour or so, and the discharge is clear and thin, not like my usual vaginal discharge, and it's definitely coming from my vagina (not urine or anything). How can i tell? should I call the doctor? I'm definitely not in labor yet, actually had fewer contractions today than I have the past few days.....

It still could be urine. That is some tricky stuff!! What I would do is wipe off down there, and then put a pad in your underwear, lay on your side for about ohhhh I don't know, 10-15 minutes, then stand up. You are giving yourself a chance to pool the liquid in your vagina (if it is leaking) so when you stand up, it should come out! Good luck.

thanks for your response - nothing else happened last night, I think it was just normal discharge. I called the nurse and she suggested what you did, but nothing else happened. I think I may be just overreacting to any little signal that might tell me I'm going into labor (today is day #3 past the due date).

It did freak my husband out quite a lot though, he couldn't believe I was so calm!!!

What I did notice with my three births is that I got very (TMI) "juicy" before I went into labor. So who knows...it can't be that far away regardless at 3 days past the "due date"! It will be any day now....says the mom who was 17 days post date.
