can someone help me understand the appeal of this show?
oh
my
gawd
it is the most annoying creation i've ever seen and my boys just love it. i think it's going to give them a brain disorder. i limit it, and that makes it even more desirable to them. what is the deal with this show? if you've seen it, please, share your thoughts. doesn't it seem like it's a million times worse than other cartoons? not in terms of content - just the style. the vibrating, annoying, bizarro style?

A-freakin'-men. I HATE ED, EDD, AND EDDY. DESPISE THEM WITH ALL MY WIDE OPEN HEART. That show is banned from my home. permanently.

I have one thought about this show....

And it is :Puke

It is annoying, distastful and just plain nasty....

And My 15 year old son loves it... :

I try to limit it without letting him know that I am limiting it because then it makes him want to watch it all the more...but I seriously would be severly happy to see it completly disapear from the screen...If I had a small child I would ban it in my house though....LOve MYlie xx

I agree that it's probably the worst one (well, maybe "the grim adventures of billy & mandy" is a bit worse) but it's my sons fave too. I can ignore it now, but it used to really bug me too.

I had to stop and read because my toddler and I are becomming Cartoon Network afficionado's at bedtime.

We both hate Ed, Edd and Eddy. However she has a strange fascination with japanimation and there is something about "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi" and "Fosters home for Imaginary Friends" that neither of us can seem to resist.

Totally off topic, I know. and wrong age group to boot.

Leaving now.

I'm wondering why this was posted in preteens and teens, but anyway...

My 6 year old and his little follower age 2 1/2 love Ed, Edd and Eddy. I have no idea why, but they laugh up a storm watching it. I've watched it at times and find some of it disgusting and nasty and some of it okay. To me one of the Ed's is always scamming for money to buy candy I guess and that isn't a message I want my children to walk away with -- but I continue to let them watch it together on the weekend at least once.

It's like Sponge Bob, it grows on you. We all will watch Sponge Bob believe it or not...

My kids have watched it occasionally but they're not big fans. They LOVE that Puffy Ami Yumi show, though. My son (who is studying Japanese) even made "Ami" and "Yumi" hiragana nametags for him and his sister.

i posted in bc my 10 yo is the one who really loves it. not sure what is pre-teen.

maybe it should have gone in the tv/media board? sorry. I'm pretty new - been a member a long time but only reading and posting for a week or two.

love spongebob. very very much better than the eds.

well, he's 4 going on preteen...

but he LOVES this show. we don't watch cartoon network but he goes to a 6 year old neighbor's house and watches it there sometimes and is always saying "double D! double D!"

I'm so glad we no longer get CN...I loathe that show, and "The Grim Adventures of..." too. I was sooooooooo sick of hearing those damned dopey voices all the time!

But then, I can't stand SpongeBob either...that show never grew on me. :

I love Samurai Jack, though!!!!!!! Now THAT is a cool show.

I The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy!

Can't stand Ed, Edd, & Eddie, though. That show is so lame.

Big watchers of Ed, Edd, and Eddy here My kids dig it lol. We have pondered many times about why there are never any adults there, and how come they never go to school (Dd used to say they were unschoolers years ago lol). It's definately got it's gross elements, but that's not a problem for us. We just think it's silly fun. We love The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy too!

: Yep, big fans here too. My son used to watch it all the time, now he's phased into medical shows on Discovery Health, we'll see what he watches next.

I always thought it was funny in a goofy way. And the Eddie that is always scaming never actually gets away with it. So I use that to point out that that's not a responsible way to earn your money. And then there's Edd, or is it Ed, the bookworm/scientist type. I like him, and the way he runs is a hoot!

Just my $.02

There were too many things whith that show that just didn't sit right with me. Dd wouldn't ever settle down after watching it. We tried to limit it but that didn't work...so we cut the cable. Who needs extended cable anyways...we watch pbs, and all I need is nbc so I can watch ER. :

E, E & E:

I can see the comparison to SpongeBob at first glance, but really, Mr. SquarePants is far superior... :LOL 10 y.o. dd and 5 y.o. ds would agree

Now Samurai Jack, that's a cool show! I haven't seen it on in months. Is it on late at night or something?

I really censored the cartoons for a while but then I gave up. If you can't beat up- join em (not always a good idea). I watched a couple and I lmao. Ed, Edd, and Eddy is pretty funny but my fav is Grim Adventures- that show kills me. When I was a kid my parents controlled every single thing that went in my mouth, everything I watched, and everything I listened to. They were trying to protect me and make sure I was healthy, etc. (mod. hippies) but I felt like I didn't belong a lot when I was younger. Now I am all for freedom to direct your own life- I give guidelines but they are generous and I let my children make there own choices as long as they are safe.

AHHHHHH!

I know what you mean... this is my Sebastian's favorite cartoon. He even goes around doing "Ed" (the big, stupid one) impressions...

"But Eddie, I LOVE chickens!" in the deep goofy voice...

*sigh*
the appeal is that it is funny.......my 6 year old dd watches it.
it is not as bad as family guy
My 9 year old son loves this show, and I hate it with a passion. It is something that his father lets him watch, and he thinks that it is just as funny as Collyn does.

I guess that he will never grow the heck up
