I apologize if this sounds harsh, but why should this surprise you or frustrate you? The teachers in the school have to live, too. They are living with extreme material sacrifice to be waldorf teachers. Seems only right to me that this sacrifice be shared.

In my experience, people who think they HAVE to have Waldorf education can figure out a way to get it.

A lurker here offering a bare bones answer.........open a separate "school account" and start saving early. Take a look at all your bills, see what you can cancel and send that money to your school account. Everything is on the table for adjustments. Cancel cable, reduce cell phone to emergency needs only, cancel extra subscriptions, eat out less etc etc. You will have to get really really serious though and not just for one month, save now for next years tuition. And if you get any refunds, tax or otherwise that all goes in the school fund. Money from garage sales is great too ! Just a financial suggestion before having to seek loans etc. And yes yes yes, do ask the school for scholarship, aid, service for tuition etc. It can't hurt to ask and if you don't the answer is already no.
Luckliy we live in a state where private school tuition is not out of this world, but I know there are states where it is. Good Luck.
