Bug party ideas?

Anyone got any good activities for a Bug themed party? Ds's 6th b-day is next weekend and we're having a bug show that will take up 45 minutes... I need to fill 30 minutes with some good 6 year old buggy activities.

Any ideas?

TIA!

How 'bout this??

http://www.enchantedlearning.com/cra...day/litterbug/

Make a litter bug for Earth Day. This easy craft is made from an egg carton section and junk. This project is not only inexpensive, but is also excellent for encouraging creativity. Children have to find or change items to resemble eyes, ears, a mouth, hair, legs, etc.

Supplies needed: A segment of a paper egg carton
-Glue
-Junk, recycling material, twigs, and other found objects, like plastic lids, bottle caps, packing material, etc.

Use a single segment of an egg carton for the litter bug's body.
Use discarded objects to make eyes, mouth, legs, hair, and other body parts. Glue them to the egg carton segment.

Butterfly craft - take a round coffee filter, have children decorate it as the wings of a butterfly w/markers, then give it a couple sprays of water from a spray bottle (to make the colors blend together). When it dries, use pipe cleaners around the middle to make into butterfly shape. Twist remaining pipe cleaner into antenae.

Ladybug rock - use a rock about the size of a child's fist, first paint it red, then add a black line down the middle (to delineate wings), paint the front black for face, either paint black spots or add black circles (like from a hole puncher) to the red wings, glue on googly eyes. Very cute.

Sounds like a great party idea. Have fun!

Or if craft projects are too much sitting around after a bug show and you need something with more action,

make up some jumping bug games---who can jump the highest, longest, most times

a bug ring-toss---sew up some simple beetle or bee bean bags and see who can toss the most into a 'nest' made of a paper bag

make some crazy buggy hats and have a parade---while hopping like a cricket or flying like a butterfly or buzzing like a bee

Awesome! Thank you both! I think I am going to make little stations where they can do a few activities in a short period of time.

Thanks!
