I wonder why baby is now in NICU? it didn't say that he was having problems, I wonder if it's because of how/where he was born?

No clue.. but due to the sensationalist news story one can only imagine they are being dramatic.. I suppose the kid could be premature hence catching her off guard but not enough details were given. Guess no one will ever know.
