my SIL's OB.......

(unfortunately, not an April fool's post)

My SIL is due sometime at the end of April, around the 22nd I think. Dh was talking to his brother on the phone the other night. BIL said that their doctor wants to induce earlybecause he prefers to deliver a 7lb baby over an 8lb baby. SIL is an average sized woman, so no super-tiny frame that some people worry about.

They haven't decided yet what they are going to do. With their 1st baby, they requested an induction at 38 weeks to get it done before the 1st of the year (tax deduction).

Honestly, with some of the stories i hear... I'm just thankful they are thinking it over instead of just signing the admissions paperwork. It is amazing how scheduled OB's want it to be.

For some reason, financial insentive makes more sense to me that "I'd rather birth 7 pound babies than 8 pound babies" from the DR of all people!

Geez you'd think that the OB's the one pooping out the 8 lb bowling ball!

I was due 12/30 with dd. I can't tell you how many people asked if I was going to be induced early for the tax break. Craziness!

Being a Dec mommy (like Nicole) this happens a lot! I know some Jan moms who did this!

My sister, who is now 26, was born on Dec. 28 after my father insisted that my mother be induced before the end of the year so that they could get an extra deduction in for the year. :

Oh, you know what, I forgot something. When my mom had me, I was a sceduled c-section. (Her 1st was an emergency c-section, and the cut was the wrong way.) The c-section was scheduled for Dec. 31, the edd was Jan 3rd I believe. I guess I didn't want anyone picking my birthday. She went into labor and had me on the 21st.
