Thread for those with 8-9 year olds - Page 2

Held DD on my lap today for the first time in a loooong time . She felt so big! Her body was so solid and long and heavy. She's 78 pounds now and 52 inches.

I looked at my 2 m.o. as I was rocking with dd and it seem like such a short time ago she was that small. It also feel like a lifetime. Where did the time go?

My ds turned 9 in November. He's recently started demanding his privacy!

He still likes to lie down and cuddle on the couch with me & dd though. Most of the time he's pretty good to her so I'm pretty happy about that.

I have an 8 year old (puberty?)

My eight year old and I have had a great year this year. I sure hope we have a good "9" year, but I read the little paperback called Your Eight Year Old and I was surprised to see that next year he will pull more away from me, and be more withdrawn. Apparently this happens every other year for a child.
I can attest that when he was seven, it was utter hell!

Well, I am a little surprised by my sons broad shoulders, thick neck and fine haired mustache! Seems like he may be moving into pre-puberty.

Anyone else with sons who are almost ready for puberty at age 8 - 9?

He is from India, and boys mature faster there. I hope he manages to get over 5'5". Right now he is 4 feet and 3 inches and 63 lbs.
