Well, I've actually read them all before (the first four twice, the fifth one once). This is my daughter's first time, though (but she's seen the three movies).

What's the liklihood I would be able to find the new book in a book store or at Walmart the day it comes out?? We're going to be on vacation in another state so if I preorder it I won't get to start it for a couple of days..Do they just fly off the shelves? I really want to start it the day it's released..I'll also have a 7 hour car ride the next day so I'd really love to get it while I'm on vacation..

Hmm..Another thought just occured to me..I could have it delivered to my grandmother's hoouse in the town where we'll be going to my cousin's wedding the day of the release..Oh man I've got HP fever BAD!!! :LOL

I'm rereading GOF in anticipation of the movie coming out in November...I'll probably try and read OOTP again too..DH has only read OOTP so he's starting at the beginning and reading TSS (#1) and reading them all through..

I lo0o0o0o0o0o0o0ove these books..Off to check out those spoilers on JK Rowlings website!!

I think they've realized what a huge seller this book is, so getting it at a bookstore shouldn't be too difficult unless it's a really small town.

But, if you know where you'll be on that day, see if you can call a bookstore in town and pre-order one through them now and pick it up that day. I'd bet most bookstores offer that, and when I ordered through my local, small bookstore it was about the same price as pre-ordering online.

Barnes and Noble told me when I pre-ordered for their midnight party that they were receiving their preordered plus FIVE more!!!! I guess that the first printing is already sold out and they are printing more but they may not make it on time and so they are limiting purchases by the bookstores.

OR they might just really have wanted me to preorder

I just did a search for the bookstores around my grandmother's house and the pickings are slim to say the least!! ACK!! I may go to amazon and order one to be sent to my grandmother's house instead..Hmmm..I just gotta find a way to get this on release day..I'm such a nerd!!!

Okay the post about Barnes and Noble only getting 5 more freaked me out so I just went to amazon and preordered one to be delivered to my grandmother's house..I honestly didn't want to have to answer questions about what it is since my family will make fun of me (my brothers will anyway) for reading harry Potter..Oh well..Maybe I'll bring another book and pretend it's that instead!! :LOL I'm showing how deep my addiction really goes, eh??

Anyway..Now I'm on countdown til the book comes out..I went to JK Rowlings site yesterday and read through all the faqs!! AWESOME!!!

With only 9 days to go I can't believe there's not more discussion than this!! Is there another thread I haven't found? I just managed to reserve a copy a couple days ago at a small local bookstore. When I called Border's they told me they could reserve a copy for me but they didn't know when I would get it because their first shipping is way sold out. The Vons near me will be carrying it and is not taking reservations--it's first come first serve--and I think it is the same at Albertson's. So if you haven't managed to reserve a copy it sounds like there are some places that will definitely have some.
DD #2 and I are just finishing OOP for the third time in preparation . We are right near the end but trying to drag it out so we don't have much lapse time. Can't wait!
