My second daughter, Aria was born May 7 at 11:40 a.m. weighing in at 8lbs, 4 oz. My birth was a bit unusual as I delivered in the comfort of the public restroom at a Donut Shop on the way to my midwife's house. I had a very short labor and had no idea that i could have possibly dilated fully when i told my husband we had to stop to use the bathroom. She was born minutes later. My husband and one scared police officer caught her and the EMT's arrived shortly after and brought us to the hospital.

Despite everbody telling us they know for sure we're having a boy ... it's a GIRL!!!
No final name yet, although we'e basically down to 2 variations of one name trying to decide which one it will be.

Add us as well - It's a GIRL! Helena Gray (pronounced HELena), born at home May 17 at 2:07 PM after 9 hours of labor. About 8 lb 6 oz and 20" long.

I had to transfer to the hospital about two hours after she was born because my placenta didn't want to come out. Actually what happened was that my cervix and the bottom half of my uterus contracted before the top half, and since my placenta was at the top, when it loosened up, it had no way to come out. Anyone ever hear of that happening? My midwife, with 25 years under her belt, had never had this happen or even heard of it, even though she's got experience with retained placentas. Never with the bottom of the uterus shrinking before the top, though.
