Borders Educator Discount?

Our local Border's bookstore has 25% off this weekend for educators. Does this include homeschoolers? It says bring your educator's ID or other proof of educator status. If this does apply to homeschoolers', what do you have for ID?

I know other places that give homeschoolers dicounts require ID, and I don't know what exactly what that would be, especially in Oregon.

I have a discount card to Borders and Barnes and Noble for being homeschoolers. I just told them that we homeschooled, and they didn't ask for any proof, but that is just my stores. I don't know about yours, but it is worth it to ask. With that card, I can participate in their extra discount days.

Our Border's requires an exemption letter from the school district, so I can't get the discount. I explained that we are homeschooling for preschool, but they said that doesn't count. But when I asked them if I would get the discount if I worked at a preschool, they said yes.

Grrr.

Namaste!

I have a Borders' discount card and it does count for educator's days. All I did was tell them we homeschool and they gave me a card. No proof required. (We don't HAVE a source of proof in our state, but I know of hsers who have printed out ID cards on their computer and used them successfully.)

I just got a card after saying I was a homeschooler. I do know some ladies made up a homeschooling card and laminated. XYZ homeschooling group. Made things look more official for various reasons.

We needed proof we homeschool. I just took our letter of notification from the school board.

On the application for a card it *says* you need proof but then it has a square to check for "homeschooler" and that was all I needed to do (I said I could just come in during school hours with my school aged kids as "proof")

for proof I homeschool , I waved my hand behind me to my three quiet children waiting paitently for their mama to finish. That was all the proof I needed. LOL

side note: that day there was a kiddie function of some kind and the employees were run over with rude obnoxious kids. to see three that were kind and paitent tipped the scales. LOL
