I had my first chiropractic appointment since moving here, and my pain levels have been over the top lately, so I really needed to make it.
I ran to the bus only to find my disability bus pass was missing or stolen! I was so enraged, I almost started crying. I had no change, and had to run back to the store to get some. By the time I made it back to the bus stop my bus had already left.
I asked the driver on the next bus when I could catch one that would take me where I needed to go. He said in 15 minutes. That was 20 minutes after my appointment started. but I really, really needed to get some help so I decided to wait.
I caught that bus and walked 1.5 blocks to my appointment. The receptionist wasn't polite, but the chiropractor (a pregnant woman herself!) was SO NICE. I am just in love with her!! She was so gentle, and considerate, and her life philosophy is SO similar to mine (she had anti-vaccine books in her waiting room!!!).
Brief Background:
I have a variety of joint, hip and back problems that have caused me chronic pain since I was around 14. I've had regular physio since then, and chiro only in the last year and a half. My muscles in my back spasm and wrap up around my spine, it's very painful. But I have avoided scoliosis and any bone twisting, which has always made me so very, very grateful.
At the end of the appointment the chiro noted that there was now a curve in my spine.
I have scoliosis. She saw notable improvement after her adjustments, and thinks she can reverse it before birth, but I was devastated... I nkow it's not that big a deal, but it was to me, I held this off for such a long time.
I was so angry and upset when I left the office. I was wishing someone would try to mug me so I could have a good reason to beat the crap out of them and release my anger.
I took a cab home, and cried for half an hour when I came in the door. I just feel so awful now.
