No, I'm in NY I think I have some of your beautiful cards from a swap! The kids know better than to touch those :LOL I eye the stamps, I especially like the Asian stamps and nature stamps, but haven't crossed over yet....today I bought some scrapbooking paper and stickers that I don't even know what they are for yet! I covet pretty qotations

I would love to get into scrapbooking (I've made 4 pages total in 5 years : ) but I get overwhelmed when I look at the amount of pictures that I have. Maybe hanging out over here with you guys will inspire me
Any tips on starting late (I have 4 dc and 10 years worth of pictures!)

I'm a stamper/card-maker and wanna be scrapbooker. :LOL I have everything I need to begin 6x6 books (which don't seem nearly as overwhelming to me!) - well, I need to print the pics. I'm hoping to do a book on our trip from Texas to California, and then a small one on my second DS's birth/babyhood. If I can do those, then I'll be doing REALLY well. :LOL

I am addicted to stamping, though! It's so much fun! How long have you been stamping, GLM? I just got a HUGE order, but I still don't think I have as many sets as you! :LOL

One thing that is helping me is to download/develop pictures of Kate monthly. When they get here, I make myself pick the best ones for the scrapbook. Then I divide them into themes for that month: January hanging out, with Hannah, feet, with Mommy...

That way, when I finally get around to them I know what to do. I also have a goal of at least doing one (the best theme) each month. That's not working, though, because here it is about to be May and I'm still working on some from January. I can't seem to make myself jump ahead for fear I'll never return to the January pages. I just need to keep reminding myself that soemthing is better than nothing!

The thing that has really helped me is organizing. I bought a really nice storage box from creative memories. It has dividers that you can take out and you can organize your pics (and cards you recieve) in it. I think it holds 2500 pics or something like that! It is really nice for me cause I tend to work on albums semi-chronologically.

Um, I've only been stamping for a year : My friend got me addicted, then got me to sign up under her...lol... I'm getting ready to place another $200 order and that doesn't include the new stuff coming out next month.....

I make LOTS of cards and I do scrapbooking. I definitely agree that the 6x6 albums are less overwhelming but they don't cost much less and I'm trying to think about the fact that I don't want dozens of little albums...lol
I am going to do one for each of the kids of their favorite pictures. I figure if they want to swap out pictures later, I can take the 6x6 pages and step them up to 8 1/2 x 11 or 12x12, you know??

I would say, find your favorite vacation pictures, or holiday or event and focus on one at a time. It doesn't have to be from your child's first year... Look thru and whatever speaks to you is what you can start with. The great thing about scrapbooking is you can do a couple pages of different subjects, put them in protectors, then arrange them later!!!! I hope that helps and let me know if you need any more tips.

kay4~Is your husband in the Army?

Back OT, lol. I agree with GLM. That is how I am scrapbooking right now.......I just do the pictures that I like and make pretty pages with em

Anybody else in ClubScrap? OMGoodness it is so neat! I love getting my pizza box in the mail.

I also stamp! I am in a stamping club with stampin up and it is fun. I haven't made any cards yet though, I like to use the stamps with my scrapbooking, for now.

I've never heard of Club Scrap, but you have my interest piqued... Tell me more....

I make about 20 cards a week, sometimes more. :LOL Dh always says "you're making MORE cards?" But, he loves seeing what I come up with. Lately I've been doing lots of watercoloring

Does anyone know a place online where I can get some of those take and make packs where everything is ready to do, and you just put it together with your pics? A friend had some last night but got them in Seattle and I haven't had any luck finding them online...

leomom~ Is this what you are looking for? If so, I did a google search and there were so many more sites. HTH.

GLM~Here is website. You join for 6 mos and you get a shipment every month. Each month has a theme. There are different clubs: Jr is cheaper, there is a stamper's club, and so on. Anyway, I think it is really neat

Jeez, do I need counselling? :
Emma, they're very similar to that, but they include embelleshments other than stickers, like ribbons or tags, etc. and they have an example of what the page would look like...how did you find those? What did you google? I googled Take and Make Kits...

Thanks!
And I don't think that means you need counseling... :LOL

Stacey, I have a few of the Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' kits. They include paper (plain and patterned) and self-adhesive embellishments, both die cut (think stickers made out of card stock) and "strips" (great for titles, etc.), all coordinating. There are some very cute themes! And they coordinate with stamp sets, too. Ahh, I love the coordination!

Is this sort of what you're talking about? They don't come with buttons and ribbon themselves, but of course coordinate with all of the ones that are available.

GLM, you're awfully productive, especially for being pg! :LOL I find it hard to get the time to just sit down and make cards. But I'm working on it! My DH also likes what I make and is very supportive of it. I had a mini-workshop for my family, and he was the finickiest of all of them, trying to get it all "just-so!" :LOL I'm hoping making cards for swaps will force me to carve out the time to do it regularly. I've also only been stamping for about a year, and finally signed up in February during Sell-a-Bration. Of course, we also moved across country in February, so it's been a little rough getting started.

Emmama, that does look neat! Before we moved I was in a Stamp Club, where we got together once a month and everyone was committed to ordering a certain amount each month. It was always nice to have not only the people and stamping to look forward to, but always getting a little something! I'm thinking I just need to start ordering for myself on a monthly basis, now that I'm not in Stamp Club anymore. :LOL

I like all of the idea for organizing and choosing pics to scrapbook. I just need to get my "real" computer set up, and hooked up to the Internet, so I can get all of my pics (some on DH's computer, some still on the CF card...) and then order them and get scrapping!
leomom~What about www.qvc.com or www.hsn.com? They have stuff in really nice packages just like what you are talking about.

HeatherB~Yes, that is what I am in. It is fun to look forward to it every month.

I know of Snapfish, but what are some other online photo developers?

Also, do you ladies prefer digital or 35mm cameras for scrapbooking?
I used to use Ofoto and really was pleased with them. I think they've changed names recently, though. Now, I view all of my photos in iPhoto on my Mac, and can quickly and easily order pics through Apple. That's what I'm planning to do now. We shoot all digital right now, but we're sort of photography geeks, so I dunno if that counts. :

I love to scrapbook! I got caught up with ds's while pregnant with dd. then I got behind and didnt do anything for a year. Now I am trying to catch up so that I can get somewhat caught up before dc #3 is born in Nov. During kids nap time yesterday I got 10 single page layouts done! I feel a since of accomplishment when I get a page done

Looks like I'll be checking out club scrap

Right now my 5 yo is at his speech class and I have to get ready to walk to get him. My almost 3 yo is having a cow because its too windy for her today. Maybe she'll actually take a nap

Anyhow, its hard to find time to scrap/card make, but I try to make it a priority, even if just for 30 or 60 minutes a couple times a week. Its my sanity. After the kids are asleep (atleast 3 out 4) I try to get cards made or atleast one scrapbook page. My almost 3 yo wants to use my stamps and my 5 yo now asks whenever he sees me with stuff "Are you stamping up now mommy" My youngest even knows the word embossing AND what it means. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not :

Anyhow, I'll catch up more later. This is my favorite pasttime, so I can see this thread getting REALLY long.
Maybe we should try to head up a swap for cards or scrapping pages over in the TP :LOL
