What's hard about this for me is that, when I'm trying to reflect on my pregnancy with Simon (which is what I want to do this writing project for), I find myself getting wrapped up in my pregnancy with Anna, my first pregnancy. I have to really focus to stay on track and think about being pregnant with Simon. I don't know why this is so hard.

Thoughts from the first three months:

Moving to a new home
Moving to a new town
Getting a new "pet for our pet" to go with the new home
Finally going on a big vacation - a Caribbean cruise
Not having to help with painting or moving heavy objects
Throwing up a lot
Aversion to Chinese food
Aversion to Barbeque
Us examining my belly daily - can you tell yet?
Telling my grandparents and father at the dinner table
Finding out my grandmother has witching abilities (she had already guessed)
Walking away from a job I detested
Rubber band to close shorts and pants
Feeling sexy

The first ultrasound, seeing a tiny person, tiny heartbeat

the midwife's office and her focus on nutrition and ME
urgent care
the hospital and the drunk guy in the next cubicle
no books at the school library, few books at the public library
waiting for the waistline to grow
eating pinenuts and feeding the house sparrows
giving up the early art class
unnamed cravings
he said he'd wondered if I could be pregnant when I'd said my breasts were so sore
keeping the secret
the green peppers in the Indian food made me want to throw up
