For sure get rid of some of those blankets, Jenn. I kept regifting the ones I didn't ever use. I still have a ton and unfortunately got 2 more at my baby shower this time around. 10 would be more than enough, I think.

I had my OB appt. toady. Last week my cervix was still long, this week I am 50% effaced! He said that I could go any day now, he wouldn't think it would be more than a week. I plan to mop the kitchen floors & bathroom today, b/c DH hasn't done it yet. Maybe that'll help.

Jenn~ I agree with AnnaKiss- get rid of some of those blankets~ I have an entire cupboard full & most of them don't even get used.

35 weeks

Things are moving along. We had our refresher birth course last week and today i had my OB consult (as a CNM patient, I have to meet with an OB to discuss my VBAC, hospital policy) which went just fine.

I still feel like I have a really long way to go, but it would be great if this baby came early instead of really late.

I have decided (per last night's bath attempt of shaving) that God (or whatever higher power you believe in) created cankles for one reason....





to make it easier for me to shave them without cutting myself!!!!! Hard to do when your foot meets your ankle and your calf at the same width!!! :LOL :LOL

That being said could someone send me some labor vibes so my cankles will go back to being ankles? My body is playing keep away with me. It'll start to do something and once I realize it it stops....hard not to realize your uterus is contracting, kwim? Damn body! :LOL

I went and bought my black cohosh today. I start it tomorrow. I'm really hoping it works quickly. And taht this discharge stuff is really my plug. I'm so beyond ready. And I'd like tohave her before next Saturday since my little sister is getting married. My mom is terrified I will be in labor during the ceremony and she will have to miss the birth.

I hope the cohosh works for you. I have used mine for the kast few days and while it has helped to some dgree I can't say with certainty that it's doing anything progressive. I don't know if you have taken it before but I found it works best in teas and hot coco.....I froze two quarts of it the other night and ate it like a popsicle! It was great and I couldn't taste or smell it at all (I was having issues there for the first couple times).

Lizabethian~I hear you on the cankles!!! I think my plane flight last weekend really messed with me because ever since I got off the plane my feet and ankles have been so swollen. I talked to my mw about it today and she told me about a woman who actually got stretch marks on her ankles!!!!! Now that's scary.

at 38.5 weeks, Im pretty sick and tired of being pregnant!
H gets out of camp tomorrow! Yay! Then the baby can come. I really am hoping that it will come soon. Even though I have a midwife, The VBAC policies here are not fun, and Im scared of an induction and repeat c-section.

I have been feeling sightly crampy, but not much. No mucus plug, no dropping of baby. My midwife won't even check me.

Im depressed!

I can't even tell if that baby has dropped or not. I just hope that cohosh will send me into labor. I had to walk to my WIC appointment and was almost in tears when I got there cause nothing but groin pain was going on. Granted I didn't want to be in labor during my appointment but I wanted something to happen!

Cheer up nym! It'll happen sooner than you think!

Yea - I know. My midwife said one thing she was certain about, I would have a baby. She just can't tell me when! heheh

lol Want to know something depressing? Based on my wide array of EDD's (two from a doctor, one from a midwife, and one that I figured out absed on somethings bit that one is the same as one of the doctor's so it doesn't count) I am due SOMETIME in MAY! I can be the beginning or nearer the end. That's IF I didn't over. If I went over it puts me in the middle or the end of May!!!!!! Try telling people when it's due then! :LOL

No one despair!!! Due to some world savvy people I just realized it's a full moon tonight! Start chugging cohosh, tweaking your nipples, and getting your freak on....the moon may help out whatever contractions you create!!!! :LOL

If you have the tincture just add it to some drink and drink away. Start with a smaller dose and work your way up. Just be careful with it. If you can smell it or taste it you've probably put too much in. I found it worked best with tea or hot coco. DO NOT mix it with Pepsi...... not tasty at all. :LOL On the bottle I had it said you can put it under your tounge as well but based off of taste and what not I wouldn't do it. Space out your times of drinking it. I did what they recommended on the bottle two to three times a day. You'll figure out a dosing schedule for you real quick. That's all I did! HTH!

Forgot to add~ mt GBS test came back negative! I was pretty sure it would, but getting the actual results was a relief.

Yup you should! I called our natural food store here and got it. They sold both blue and black in tincture and in pill form. I bought a one ounce for 9.50. Just cal land ask if they have it!

YAY!!!! on the GBS.

Nym and Mamafae (and anyone else) -- you mentioned you are dyeing prefolds and onesies. What kind of dye do you use for that? I think I want to do this, too.

OMG!! I am still giggling at that!!

Well DH comes home tonight and has promised me that I get to sleep uninterupted (except for pee breaks) tonight and tomorrow. Woo Hoo!

I am anxious to get some of the heavy work done while he is home, but on the other hand it is just so gorgeous here that I don't want to stay inside.(75 deg!)

I hope each of you that are nearing that 38th week find moments of repreive and rest! Go take a warm bath!
