I am a HS teacher and one of my students died last week in a car accident.
He was a quiet, shy kid, and I didn't even get to know him as well as I would have liked to, but just the fact that he was my student and now he is gone has left me quite depressed this week.
I went to his funeral Tuesday--it was a very nice funeral. And I had my other students write notes of condolence to his parents--so I have done some things for "closure."
I also feel guilty--he was on his way to MY class. He wasn't speeding and he was wearing his seat belt, but for some reason he crossed the center line (perhaps fell asleep?) and hit a pickup truck head-on. He died at the scene.
I have a 3 m.o. and perhaps some of my depression is ppd but this really has me down, as well. Just needed to say this; thanks for reading.
