Advice on new silky bed sheets?

My husband is very picky with sheets, and I have heard enough of the whining. About 3 years ago when we had a queen size bed I saved, and ordered 100% silk sheets. Husband was so happy, as they are very smooth. I really wasn't impressed as they would cling to your body, also they were very thin, and any body oils were near immposiable to get out, along with tree sap to say the least.

Then Ryan was born and knew we needed a King size bed. So after we got it, we have yet purchased sheets. Also I am in need of a resoanbly priced waterproof matress pad to fit a 17 in. matress height.

So what reasonably priced sheets do you all own? Brands? And also would they fit a deep fitted matress as thick as ours.

My husband says we should buy satin sheets, as they are smooth to his skin, and not scratchy.

Thanks!
Renee

We recently bought a king size bed too and we got reasonably priced sheets at IKEA. They are 100% cotton but I'm not sure what type. They are very smooth and have a bit of a sheen to them. I really like them.

we recently updated our bedroom. before had 2 twin beds pushed together and king size sheets wouldn't fit. Now we have a real king bed. I went to Bed,Bath&Beyond. I fould a great waterproof matress cover ~$60.
As for sheets, I recently bought 400 thread count cotton sheets at Target ~$70. Within a month they have started to pill so badly I'm actually thinking of returning them. Last week I bought a set of Modal/beechwood sheets at BB&B ~$100. I've yet to use them as I was wanting to find a positive review of them IRL or online. So far not that many people are talking about them. BB&B said that I could return them if I'm not happy so I guess I'll just have to open the new set. Plus I can't return the target ones if I don't have another set. Modal are suppose to feel like silk and be very absorbent. BB&B had modal jersey sheets but I feared they would stretch too much and get saggy in the middle.
Depending on your dc you might still want an additional pad. The matress pad above takes a long time to dry. My dd wets the bed about once every 1-2m so while it is a pain I can deal with it. The best cheap pads I've used were flannel ones with a waterproof inner layer. The ones with the plastic backing come apart very easily.

You may not need a full sized waterproof barrier.

We used wool crib-pads similar to this (ours were very cheap, and not organic/chemical free-whatever)

I just put a pad wherever baby was sleeping, and had about 4 to change out during the night without having to get up.

I disagree with the crib size pad. Depending how long you co-sleep, dc can really move during the night. I often had problems where the pee from dd would run down into my depression on the bad. I got wetter than dd from her own pee . We needed a pad that would cover both her spot and mine on the bed. Then there is always the nights when dd would want to be in a different spot, or even when she would nap as she kinda wanders over the bed when no one is with her. Especially since it is a new bed, I would cover the entire thing AND use additional pad for minor diaper leaks. We had more of a volume issue as dd started taking off her diaper in the middle of the night LONG before she could stay dry at night.

The best place I've found for sheets is Overstock.com. They have the best prices that I know of. I bought a lovely 600 count sheet set for about $65.
