Discipline Empathy

This morning we were getting ready to leave for church. Almost an hour lately, Michael still didn't have his shoes on. We were on our way out the door, we were late, and he couldn't find them. I finally said, OK, you'll have to go without. He was not happy. Actually, that's a total understatement. He was one pissed off little boo.

When we got to church, his dad had to carry him out of the car and up to his class.

When I got him an hour later, he was happy as could be. The rest of his class took off their shoes too so he wouldn't feel embarassed.

That's really cute! We have huge shoe issues at my house. I think my children may have some disease that makes losing all shoes inevitable. I don't even make a big deal anymore unless it is someplace my ds has to have shoes, if he is in the car without them he will tell me, "Momma, guess you have to carry me to the cart today". So if you see shoeless children sitting together in a cart in the grocery store : .
