Recipes from TWG?

Thread Starter
I know alot of you don't like the Tightwad Gazette's food selection, and instead of focusing on the negative, I was wondering if you've LIKED any of her recipes (or tried some and specifically not like certain ones)?
They are mostly recipes that I'm afraid to try for fear I won't like them!
We've liked the homemade chocolate syrup and the hot cocoa mix (not Amy D.'s, but the reader's submitted one and we actually mix it with soymilk when making it).
We've not liked the lentils and rice recipe. Can't remember the actual name, but it was pretty bland.

Any thoughts?

We liked the tuna-carrot-cheddar soup and the Cuban bread. I also make the pizza dough recipe all the time, although she credits another published source.

I agree that the lentil/rice thing wasn't so hot. The "universal" muffin and pilaf recipes are cool but her rice crust for quiche was one of the most disgusting things I've ever willingly put in my mouth. Blech.

Hijacking the thread for a moment--
One of the easiest, best tasting crusts for quiche are tortillas. I heat them up first, and just stick it in the pie tin. Put the quiche filling up to the top of the tortilla (the tortilla should be big enough to run up the side of the tin) and bake. Tastes great and is super easy!!!

I really like her muffin formula. We usually make banana-vanilla muffins or apple cinnamon muffins using her formula. I started creating my own "formulas" such as one for rice pilaf and one for soup. I also really like her recipe for oven fries. I sometimes use some cajun seasoning on them to make cajun fries just like the ones we used to spend so much money on at the restuarants.

I love her french dressing, pizza crust, baked beans, cuban bread and I love the universal bread and muffin recipes. I haven't tried every recipe in there though. I plan on making "dunkin soup" and if my container garden yields enough tomatoes, I will try the pizza/spaghetti sauce
