"In Her Shoes" the movie

Anybody read the novel 'In Her Shoes" by Jennifer Weiner?

It's been made into a movie:

In Her Shoes

I really enjoyed this book. I read it after reading a whole bunch of parenting books. It was so fun to read a regular entertaining novel.

I read this too and really liked it. I also read two other books by her, Good in Bed that is being made into a series for HBO and Little Earthquakes which is also optioned for a movie! Thanks for the link

I can SORT of see Cameron as Maggie but not Toni as Rose??? Rose is supposed to be heavy, why not get an actress that really IS heavy instead of plumping up a tiny tart? Makes me mad! Finally a great role a chubby girl and they cast a stick but make her gain weight, I hate HollyWood!

I know Toni Collette was considerably heavier in Muriel's Wedding, and not "look I'm Renee Zellweger and I'm now a 6 instead of a 2 for Bridget Jones" kind of heavier. It has been a long time since I saw that film, though.

Yes she did plump up for that role in Muriels wedding, much like Minnie Driver did for Circle of Friends. The thing is there ARE heavy actresses in Hollywood, why not cast one of them instead of plumping up a skinny? kwim? Bugs the crap out of me

Yep. I agree, MamaBug. And it's not like the "fat" versions of these actresses are particularly heavy, either. Of course, even actresses who start out at a "normal" weight often end up thinner than thin (see Jennifer Aniston). Scary.

Very scary. I hate that they think only thin girls fall in love and get married. I do theater and the producer once told me I could surely get the lead if I would lose weight. Well I decided that this season every time I try out for a lead I am going to write this on all the forms where it says is there anything else you want to tell us:

Yes I want to tell you that fat girls fall in love and marry, often times HOT guys, every day and for once you could break out of your thin girls only get the guy mode and hire a chubby girl, and why not start with ME

My husband worked on the movie (spent all day in the pool with Cameron Diaz and still claims it was a hard days work. : ) When does it come out?

Don't know the release date, sometime this year I think.

So what does your ds do for a living? I am interested!

He's a grip on commercial, music videos and feature films.

Amen, sister. I'm living proof too. :LOL

Amen is right. My friends don't think I will have the nerve to write that, but you know what I figure it can't hurt me and it might just get me a better part! :LOL
