What will work to hang my wet bag with?

I want to make a pail size wetbag, ours is falling apart AND the zipper is broken.

I want to add a loop, so that I can hang it from the nursery door. With the load from just one babe, our bag gets pretty heavy. We have #2 on the way, so I am sure that it will just get heavier.

I thought of using a wide elastic, but worry that it will stretch out. I would like something a bit more sturdy, but can't seem to think of what might work.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I used strapping or webbing (not sure what it's called.) It's the stuff that is used for duffle bag and backpack straps. It's strong and you could add aplix if you wanted to make it adjustable.
