Evening Primrose Oil Vaginally - Page 2

getting anxious

I am 39 weeks 3 days. would it be worth while to try using primrose oil this late to ripen my cervix? my doctor wants to induce at 41 weeks but i would much rather try what natural ways i can to try to progress on my own. any other suggestions on what to do to ripen my cervix and get some progression going? thanks

IME, it can;t hurt. I would increas the oral and vag dose every 2-3 days.

I used EPO to efface my cervix during my last pregnancy and it worked well. only vaginally, I didn't take orally.

On my MW's directions, I take 3000mg/day. 1000mg orally in the a.m., 1000mg orally in the afternoon, then 1000mg vaginally at night. I'm 38 weeks and have been doing this for the past two weeks.

Hi!

I jusy saw this topic and thought I would comment! The day I went into labor I had vaginally inserted 2 capsules of primrose oil before bed time. I was 10 days past my due date so my midwife recommended I take them, looks like it worked.
