I'm sorta both, where do I fall

As weird as this is going to sound, I'm a SAHM that also works full time away from home. Let me explain, I stay home all day with the kids (I'm a lucky mama ) When dh gets home from work I go to work . I do consider myself a SAHM mostly because my kids aren't in daycare (btdt).

You work full time in the evening?!?! I can't imagine how tiring that must be! Of course any mom who works outside the home, works when they get home too. I'm just beat by the end of the day and can't imagine going to work after that. Makes me tired just thinking about it :LOL

I don't work fulltime, but this is me too. While I like it that I am essentially home with the kids and we use limited childcare outside of me or DH, it is also fairly strenuous on me because I am often feeling torn between my two roles. And since I work parttime evenings, my taking care of the kids is my 1st job, if that makes sense.

This actually causes me a fair amount of stress. I know that I am not cut out to be a fulltime SAHM, but getting my own business started, which is what I am trying to do right now on top of working, is proving to be super difficult with taking care of kids at the same time. Course, there are other issues at play, whcih I am I also trying to deal with.

But yes, I essestiall consider myself a SAHM who also works. Kind of weird.

There was a thread about this earlier on the board. I work part-time in the evenings, at a movie theater. Last year I worked about 5 nights a week and that was tiring. Now i'm working 1-3.

Yes, this is what my friend used to do. She was home with the kids all day, ever day but on weekdays when her dh would get home at 5 or 6 she'd go to work and work a 6 hour shift or something. She and I most definitely considered her to be a SAHM because she was the one staying home with the kids all day and spending almost all of their waking hours with them. She even still co-slept with them from midnight or so until they got up. It was a bit tiring of course though. That's great you are making it work.
