I've been reading about cold process soap making and checking out different recipes. Many of the oils used are types you can buy in the grocery store so I assumed that's where you would get them.

But, earlier this morning I spoke with a lady who makes her own soap and has a home-based business selling soap making supplies. She told me that you shouldn't use store bought oils because they are adulterated and not the best products for making soap. I don't know what adulterated even means and I don't know if she was saying this so I would buy product from her instead of from the grocery store. Her stuff is more money then, say, olive oil, from the grocery store.

My big question is are grocery store oils okay to use when making soap or not?????
