Hello ladies
I'm new around here... not to CD's though. I'm well addicted to them I'm wanting to sew my own diapers so bad seeing how we're moving and aren't able to really afford brand new ones. Plus, I've always wanted to sew But my question is, is there any patterns I should try for first timers like me? And when I say first timers, it means i'm very scared to even try to sew, LOL. I'm scared of not knowing what I'm doing, pretty much. :LOL I do indeed have all the materials I need except some hook & loop... but other then that, I believe I'm good to go. Now where to start...

Welcome!

I really like the Darling Diapers pattern. It comes as a pdf attachment, with lots of pictures and detailed instructions. A lot of people also like the Very Baby pattern as well but I haven't tried it. You can get it at www.diapershop.com. Hope this helps, and happy sewing (it's addictive lol).

Another vote for the VB pattern. It is very well laid out and very reasonable priced IMO.

I heard great things about the VB pattern. I love the internal soaker... I also want to try the HB [HoneyBoy] one. Is that easy, too? I LOVE the way the HB looks!

I have the HB and it's fairly easy, but IMO, once you "get" how to make a diaper all the patterns are pretty much the same as far as difficulty. The HB is a little wider in the stride than I like though, same with the VB so narrowed both of them into a "bikini" cut.

Yea, I was thinking about doing something like that [cutting it a bit in the stride]. I seen many momma's on here doing it, and hey... it's worth a shot! I'm just so *new* to a sewing machine that I'm pretty frightened to try, LOL!
