Polyester or cotton velour ...which to use ?

I have some Muttaqin diapers that are lined in Velour on the inside and I love them. The velour stays so new looking and is soooo squishy soft! I'm not sure what kind of velour she uses. So if I wanted to use velour when making my own diapers which would I use??... the Cotton Velour or the Polyester Velour. My local Hancocks fabric has the 100% polyester one, I didn't see any cotton one there. What's the difference in them besides the fact that one is mostly cotton and one is all polyester?
Would the all poly one act like microfleece and suedecloth to draw away moisture? Thanks!

I dont think I'd use a 100% polyester velour. Most of what is available here locally is 80% cotton with 20% poly in the base for durability and stretch. That washes well, stays nice and adds significant absorbency too. Polyester on its own will offer no absorbency and wouldnt be that nice to wear I dont think - although if it wicks like microfleece it'd be OK. I dont think it does though, not sure.

Sewzannes has 100% cotton which would be absorbent but I've no idea how it would wash and wear, poly usually adds durability.

Cotton, or mostly cotton velour is what most diaper makers use I believe. I bought some poly velour, and made a pocket fitted out of it (the poly velour on the inside.) I have only used it once, but it did stay about as dry as suede cloth does. It is very soft too.
Cotton is nice though, because it does stay a bit dryer than hemp or birdseye, or whatever, yet you still have the natural fibers against baby.

I love cotton velour on the inside of diapers/AIOs and the 80/20 works the same as the 100% cotton IME. I have used the 100% polyester velour (sometimes called robe velour) as a wicking layer and it works well for that also. The nap tends to wear off the poly so it isn't as soft as suedecloth after a while.
