Fleece AIOs

Can you make fleece outer AIO's w/ and internal soaker? I think I've only seen fleece used for pocket dipes. Or would it just take forever to dry if it had an internal soaker?

Fleece AIOs can have an internal soaker - Honeyboys and Changing Babies fleece AIOs are like this. The honeyboys I have that I made ages ago have three layers of burley knit terry sewn in with a knit inner and a Windpro fleece outer. They do take about a dryer cycle and a half to dry though. I just leave them in the dryer and dry them a second time with the second batch.

Cool! So you just make it like a normal AIO but use the fleece instead of PUL? I think I'm going to have to try this. Thank you!

Had another question-Can I use 200 wt fleece? Also, what's chamois fleece?

I wouldn't recommend 200 weight, for these you really need Windpro. 200 weight will work, but not as well. Chamois fleece is thinner than 100 weight. It is my absolute favorite for next to baby's skin. It doesn't pill as much and is yummy soft. Use it as a wicking layer, it's not waterproof.

So, would the 200 wt work for a pocket, or could I use it inside a diaper?

Yes, just make it like a regular aio - let's see... look, I made this one with light weight windpro on the outside: http://sewdiapers.com/fleeceaio.htm I made it with a quick dry soaker, but you can do it internal like you want.

300 weight and Windpro is best, you could probably do a 200 wt aio for daytime, I think the Cuddle in One fleece aios are 200 weight, I haven't used those though. I do have a SnugWee (eep! What happened to her website??!) that is a nice aio with 200 weight on the outside, I never had any problems with it

Don't use it inside as a wicking layer. I made that mistake in the very beginning. The pee just runs out the side of the diaper! Like Jessica said, it would probably be good for daytime use. It may work just fine, I just wouldn't trust it overnight or anything.

200 weight does wick moisture away IF it isn't treated with any waterproofing stuff. I have some old Luke's diapers and she uses 200 weight to top the soaker with. But I far prefer microfleece - less bulky and less of a worry since micro isn't ever treated
