birdseye locally?

I just ordered the VB pattern online a couple days ago (along with some velcro, pul, ect)

I'm expecting to buy my machine soon, but I'm waiting til i'm A. not working 100+hr weeks again, and B can clear out my formal living/dining which is my living/craft room

I know I can buy birdseye from OSDS, but I'd really like to be able to pop into joanns or the like and buy a couple yards at a time...

Has anyone bought it locally??

Yes, I've found it at Hancocks before, and sometimes Joanns. Sometimes they call it "diaper cloth" instead of birdseye and once I found it at another Joanns called just "pique".

I found some at Joanns last week

but it was horribly expensive! I hope you can find a better deal on it than I did

They have it at a Hancock's near me for $2.69/yd., I believe. Sometimes they have coupons, too.

my Joanns had it and was called "diaper cloth" for under 3.00 also I didnt buy it. Last week I went back to get some and now its also called pique and is likr 7.00 a yd : you can use good flannel you know? I bought nice thick flannel from walmart for about 2.50 a yd and it works just as good with alittle pilling but stays softer than BE IMO.

I asked at my Hancock's last week and they didn't carry it but it did start a good conversation about cloth diapering with the cutting table lady, and a mama who just adopted a Guatelmalan baby was interested.

I figure if I ask enough they will decide there is a lot of interest and start stocking birdseye.

I called the huge joanns (all the joanns here are much bigger than the hancocks :/ this one is 3 stories!) and they said no.
Called a hancocks and the lady said "bird...birds...bird what now??'

*facepalm*

I called a second handcocks and the lady was very sweet and helpful. Said definately carried it, and normally kept it in stock!
AAAANNNDd thye have a coupon for 25% any cut of fabric like next weekend I think.
I'm - a - gonna print it, and buy myself a B-load of fabric
