use of anesthetic

So, if newborns are circumcised without anesthetic, when do the doctors draw the line and actually use the anesthetic on an older baby? I mean - till what age will they circumcise without anesthetic and upon reaching what age do they think that anesthetic should be used? I hope am making some sense..

Circumstraints are good to about ten to twelve pounds, I'm told.

When the little boy is too big for that I expect they usually go to a general anesthetic.

Colaga:

Each doctor draws the line at a different age but it is usually between 3 and 6 months. I guess it depends on when they consider them "real" human beings.
