Good article - thanks for adding it here!

I wonder if there are therapists who specialize in helping couples with circ-related sexual problems?? I'm assuming not, since there is actually so little info even looking into the issue. But ya never know...

I just wanted to add that in addition to the sexual affects, there's also the issue of the protective mamma-bear instinct vs. the father often being insistant about circumcision and "matching". Pregnancy is a wonderful and special time, but impending change, uncertainty, hormones, emotional instability, etc mom may need extra care, love, reassurance, and support. The circumcision issue may bring up unneeded stress, anger, guilt, and resentment...lasting feelings that can affect a marriage long after the birth(s).

I don't feel like I articulated that as clearly as I'd hoped, but hopefully it makes sense. ;-)

I kinda doubt it too. As a matter of fact, I can imagine you would have a lot of trouble finding a sexual therapist who would consider that circumcision was in any way implicated in the problems. Only one that was very avant garde would even consider it and only a very special one would bother to do the research to consider the link. Certainly, none would have any experience in this area.

Gynecologists have been trying to treat Feminine Arrousal Disorder surgically with very mixed results. Urologists and male sexual specialists have no clue. their answer for everything is Viagra.

The ones who pioneer this area and research are likely to run into resistance from their patients who refuse to believe that male circumcision could possibly have anything to do with it and reject the therapist as a quack.
