Ok, guys. I post to a mainstream board and enjoy it, but it is sometimes more than I can take! Please let me quote part of a reply to someone who was concerned about crying wolf by calling the doc for contractions....
"Take it easy, and don't worry about wether or not to call next time, just go ahead and pick up the phone.... We don't want you going into labor at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
:LOL

Our minds can be so conditioned, can't they? It reminds me of a funny commercial from years ago, probably a beer commercial that had this chicken playing sports, baseball, billiards, etc. What it did was lay eggs with amazing power & control- you know, a fast baseball pitch, striking the billiard balls, whatever. (If you never saw it, this probably isn't making any sense) Anyway, they kept calling the chicken "he", the chicken was "one of the guys." : it's a chicken laying eggs: IT'S A GIRL! I felt like the only person in the world who noticed!

I've noticed this mentality on TV too. One woman on Baby Story was talking about her previous labor and how she went so fast that they barely made it to the hospital so this time they were going to "be on top of things" so that she could get her epidural in time... wouldn't want to spend another 45 minutes in pain, right? : People look at me like I'm crazy when they mention how fast and uncomplicated someone's labor was and how it's a good thing they made it in time or they would have had the baby in the car - and I say, sounds like they might as well have stayed home and been comfortable! *Sigh* I can't wait to have MY baby at home!!!

Me niether!!

I stopped posting at maintreamy message boards as of late, but I like to lurk around sometimes. I always find something new to be flabbergasted about. I sometimes wonder if people even re-read their posts or what not before sending or submitting. : One of the last times I posted at something like that, I was told I didn't know as much as I thought I did, I shoul,dn't try to console people as it was appearant I had a chip on my shoulder (at a disappointing birth experiences board, folks) and that epidurals "were a wonderful invention" and therefor could not be the problem behind someones problematic (iatrogenic was written all over the birth story) 2 hour pushing phase. Tell me how *that* makes any sense?:
