Pretty sure it's where there's a list of mamas and one sends coupons to the next, who takes out what she wants, adds some she doesn't want of her own, then sends it on to the next on the list, and so on.

But someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I've never participated in one.

I have participated in a robin, but I opted out after just one cycle. Basically, a robin is exactly as snowflake described. I quit the robin because the person before me held the coupons for a month, and then sent me a giant folder of unsorted coupons, many of which were expired. I didn't want to be behind her in the line, kwim? It made me look bad, and then I had to spend almost an hour picking out the expireds.

But if you get a good strong robin where people follow the rules, it works great.
