Once you stop laughing, I need help

Goo, in one of her mysterious ways, got a raisin lodged in the seat bealt buckle. Now the seat belt won't click properly.

Short of replacing the seat belt (which we are planning to do) is there some way to get a smooshed raisin out of the buckle?

(am I spellin raisin correctly? It just looks wrong)

HELP!

(in the interum, we are NOT using that seat belt)

Um, have you tried hooking it with a bent paperclip or something. Oh wait, I have another idea! Raisens get soggy when wet. Maybe you can pour hydrogen peroxide (will break up the tissues more than water) in there and let it sit and soak, then pick it out with the paperclip. If you have a shop vac with one of those narrow attachments for small spaces that might work, too.

I do hope you share if you were able to get it out or not. :LOL

:LOL

When I saw your thread title I thought it was a play on "Raisin in the Sun" and I was thinking "what a strange choice for a play on words...".

Now I get it.

I'm done being totally unhelpful.

I did try the paperclip and got part out, but it is all gooey in there.
I can try hydrogen peroxide. That's a good idea!

We are calling the toyota dealer on Monday to get it replaced, I am just SO nervous to have her sit there while I can't confirm the integrity of the system

My carseat has instructions to the effect that you should soak its buckle in some water if it gets crud in it. Maybe you could try that with a large bowl and the seat belt thingy?

Though I think that advice was meant more for crackers and such, that will dissolve in water--not sure a raisin will do that! Hey, maybe you could call up a dealership service dept and ask if they have any advice on how to get it out, in the meantime. If they've got an old timer in charge, I bet they've seen that or something like it before--same thing for a local car repair place, esp. if it's a mom and pop one.
