Melatonin
Hi,We started our ds on melatonin when he was 6 (he's 8 now) because he would scream for 2 hours transitioning into bedtime every night no matter what we did- early bedtime, late bedtime, sleeping with us, not sleeping with us, bedtime story or no, hard play, easy play, no play, tv on, tv off. Like you, we'd tried everything. We were just at our wits end.
We started out on 1 mg each night before bedtime and slowly moved up to 3 mg. I think the bottles come in either 1 or 3 mg pills, I haven't seen any other dosages but we just kinda grab and go.

You might ask their pediatrician just to be safe. Our pedi reccommended it to us after we went through much of what you are experiencing.
Ds no longer needs it, he took it for about a year when he began to transition easier. He's going through a phase now where he's trying to get out of taking a needed medication at bedtime and raging for 2 or 3 hours every night, and the melatonin is really helping dd get the full nights rest she needs. We're hoping to be able to take her off soon! I don't like using it long term, you know?
But it definitely helps in the short term!
