So what's your job decription? What are your expectations of yourself as a SAHM?

Do your expectations differ from your partners or families expectations?

I'm gonna write my job decription and put it on my fridge as a reminder, as there are some things I am really good at, and others that I am still working on. Perhaps seeing it will remind to keep on working at it.

My Job Description:

My first priority is to love and care for my children. I will meet their basic needs of clean clothing, healthy and delicious food, and a comfortable home.

I will provide a wide variety of interesting, open ended, engaging activities. This includes daily art, music and outdoor experiences. I will strive to involve my children in the daily runnings of our home, making an effort to include them in cooking, cleaning and errand running. I will remember that play is the work of childhood, and will not push my children to grow up faster than they should.

I will use daily situations to teach my children about life. I will give them the skills needed to work peacefully with others, as well as the skills to work or play independantly.

I will put my husband and my relationship at top priority, because I know that when we are working well together, everything else falls perfectly into place. I will model to my children what a loving marriage looks like, and show them how they deserve to be treated.

I will do my best to be patient, fair, and kind, but I will also give myself room to fail. I will teach my children that everyone messes up sometimes, even mommy, and that it is okay to appologize and try again.

I will strive to keep a comfortable home in which my children and husband feel at peace, and feel comfortable inviting guests.

I will ask for help when I need it. I will not strive to be all things to all people. I will take time for just me. I will schedule time for me to exercise each day to take care of my body, and I will find time to make these same things available to my husband as well.

Above all, I will strive each day, to show my family how valuable and loved they are.

I like what both of you have written.

I especially appreciate the conducting research in fields of "child development. . . "

one other thing I would add:

keep finances organized, up to date and in the "black"!

To be here for my children

I'm not sure what else my job description would include because we all cook and clean, and therefore it's not just my duty. Ohh maybe clean the bathroom, and sweep under beds...everyone else hates those tasks lol.

I plan on mine changing as my children get older! Right now they are only 2 and 5 months, so I can't have them doing to much around here yet...though the 2 year old is learning!
