My midwife thought that my uterus was really high at/for 16 weeks, but I had the ultrasound and it's just one baby! Everyone carries so differently, and shows at different times - I looked huge at 16 weeks, but I think I'm starting to even out a bit. Okay, I still look really big! (for 19 weeks now), but this is my fourth, I have big babies, and I always show early and carry high anyway.

I love this thread! It's a lot of fun - everyone looks beautiful.

Great pics -- I will try to motivate to do mine today.

Off-topic: MamaFern -- I love the stuff you made, plus the dipes (maybe you bought). DH and I tie-dyed some thrift store onesies -- lots of fun. Maybe some day I can make yarn stuff -- I rarely motivate to practice my crochet. You're stuff is really great though, do you sell stuff or just make for your own?

OK, here are the front and side. From front can't see a thing but wow look at the side. The thing is I don't think I really look this big but DH got shots at all angles and this one looks the biggest so here it is . .

Here I am! 17 weeks 2 days

I am HUGE! I've only gained 3 lbs - where did that belly come from?
Plagio, please make me feel better and remind me this is your first. I'm chalking all of my extra weight up to second pregnancy. Why yes, I am carrying my baby in my Polish Life Raft (also known as "spare tire round the sides and back" if you aren't Polish).

Ha -- it is my first, also I tend to carry my fat in my hips and almost have none on my belly -- I used to have such a tiny waist before this pregnancy I think it would have been very fashinoable in the time of corsets but, alas, I don't have the large breasts that seem to define "feminity" today.

I know about the Polish life raft, DH is Polish-American but is skinny, but there are a few of his family that come to mind . . . all those potatoes, pork, and flour dumplings . . .

Oh, and I was queezy the 1st 3 months, then I had "stomach problems" for the last few weeks, so I haven't been able to eat much -- but finally have my appetite back, what a relief. Let's see what happens now . .

MMM...and don't forget the BEETS.

That's the irony, the men are always skinny (in my family at least) and the women are ... well, they're pretty healthy for big women, if you discount the beet-induced diabetes. Of course, now that I'm pregnant, I completely crave beets and potatoes and other carb-based veggies.
